iTOUGH2 work with EOS7C
Hello,
I am new to iTOUGH2 and wanted to estimate parameters in a model with EOS7C module. I learned from the iTOUGH2 users guide that the maximum number of primary variables (MAXPV) is 4. However, in EOS7C, there are 6 primary variables (gas phase pressure, mass fractions of brine, NCG and TRC, gas saturation and temperature).
I only have executable iTOUGH2 (no source code). Does it mean I cannot run iTOUGH2 with EOS7C module in the forward simulator?
Thanks,
Haiyan

Dear Haiyan,
If you have a standard version of iTOUGH2, you can certainly run an EOS7C model. You don't need the source code to recompile it, as all arrays are dynamically allocated. I'm not aware that iTOUGH2 gives you a message that it is limited to 4 primary variables (because it is not, unless you only have an evaluation license). Have you tried running iTOUGH2-EOS7C?

Dear Stefan,
Thanks for your reply.
I think we have a standard version of iTOUGH2 but will confirm with my supervisor. I haven't run iTOUGH2-EOS7C yet and I just learned about the max number of primary variable from the user manual (please see attached screenshot). I sure will try iTOUGH2-EOS7C later.
So does it mean the 'Maximum number of elements' is not constrained to 4000 too?
By the way, what is the module number of EOS7C in iTOUGH2 command, for example, 1 for EOS1, is it '7ca' for EOS7C?
Regards,
Haiyan

Sorry I mean '7c' instead of '7ca'

Yes. The EOS ID is 7c.
