Define Constant Injection Pressure

Dear all members,

I tried to model water injection with defining constant pressure instead of constant injection rate in ECO2N but I encountered no changes in the model.

based on manual examples, in order to define the constant pressure, I changed the pressure of injection elements in the initial condition and fixed their volume in ELEME part.
I would be grateful if someone can help me on this issue?

    What did you change the volumes of the injection elements to? It would have to be something very large (typically on the order of 1E50) to achieve the Dirichlet boundary condition you're trying to set up. Another alternative would be to make these elements inactive by placing them at the end of the ELEME list, following the entry of a dummy element with zero volume. See page 63 of the User's Guide ( http://esd1.lbl.gov/files/research/projects/tough/documentation/TOUGH2_V2_Users_Guide.pdf ).

      Dear Mikey,

      I changed the pressure of the injection emelent in INCON part, then I changed the Volume of it in ELEME part exactly as you said and mentioned in the manual (see the attachment), but after running nothing happened.

      could you please explain your second offer more?

      I can't guarantee that this is your issue, but you've set the permeability modifier PMX to 0.0 in columns 41-50 of the ELEME block you attached.   If you included a domain named 'SEED' in the ROCKS block, this will make the element impermeable.  If that's the case, you can get the effect you're looking for by either omitting this entry (i.e., leaving columns 41-50 blank) or by changing it to 1.0 (of whatever multiplicative modifier you wish).  If this isn't causing your problem, I'm afraid I'll have to look at the rest of your input file to help further.

      I checked it, but this item also was not the error;
      the model is very simple, I attached the file for your notice.

      Ahmad,

      The file you sent me didn't have a title line before the ROCKS block.  Did you remember to include that in the input file you used to run the simulation?  I've included that in the attached file.  The simulation seemed to run ok for me when I used this file.  One thing I did notice, though, is your simulation time (1 day) is too short to see much of an effect in elements far away from your injectors.  You can definitely see pressure changes in the elements neighboring them, though.  As an example, the pressure in element ZAE 73 (connected to DAA10) rises from 12 to 14.4 MPa.

      Dear Mikey,

      Thanks a lot for your checking and hints. I defined title as "Test" but I forgot to write it in the uploaded file. I found that the problem was my execution files which I should change them.

      Hello, I am also encountering the same problem now. I modified the volume of the injected mesh to e50 and modified the pressure of the injected mesh in INCON, but the flow simulation still has problems. Have you solved it? Can you take a look at the constant pressure input file that you have successfully simulated?
