Time dependent DELV (PI/BH)

Dear community,

I am trying to use a DELV source type to match some well data. However, every well start at producing at a different time. Then, it is needed to make them available at different times.

I am think to use the RESTART TIME command from itough2 to change the bottomhole pressure (or volume) from the sources. However, I don't think that'ts the most appropiated approach. Is there any other way I could make this work?

Cheers,

Erick

    Hi Erick,

RESTART TIME does not allow you to change the bottom-hole pressure (PWB). While I have never used the following option myself, you can specify a time-dependent PWB by using TYPE="FIXP" and LTAB>1. Then specify LTAB data pairs of time=F1 and the corresponding PWB=F2. The productivity index, provided through variable GX, is constant. In addition, you can impose a limit on the production rate through variable HG.

This feature was implemented into iTOUGH2 by David Bullivant (University of Auckland, NZ).

I hope it works for you!

    Stefan
