How to change the volume in ELEME Block

I am fairly new to TOUGH -Hydrate and just simulating through the default files available. I would like to know how to or where to add the volume of the reservoir in ELEME Data Block and will have an effect in default CONNE setting. If so, how to address or manipulate CONNE Data Block.I have gone through the manual also, but unable to understand.

I would appreciate if anyone can tell me what are all the elements present in ELEME and CONNE blocks.

Any insight would be highly appreciated.

Thanks

You can find the  volume of element locates  at 21-30 column after the keyword "ELEME". Detailed discussion for the keyword "ELEME" can be found in the user manual.  All the elements have a volume of 0.1000e00 in your example. CONNE provides definition of  the connections of two elements defined in the "ELEME" data block. "ELEME" defines name, volume, coordinates, contact areas with boundary of elements. "CONNE" defines the names of the two connected elements,  contact areas of them, distances from interface to the two elements, and others.

kenny Thank Kenny for the reply. I read the user manual and I was able to correlate ELEME and CONNE data blocks. I would like to know what is Interface area for heat exchange and how to calculate it? In the default problem given in the manual, the value is 0.4000E+00. What is it and how do we calculate it?

      Thanks

      AmyJackson

The column you marked is not the interface area for heat exchange. It is the connection area between two elements. The area is actual interface area between two elements.
