Software purchase question
Hello everybody! I am a graduate student freshman, and my supervisor asked me to use tough2 software. I didn't know this software before. I only saw itough2 on the website, but not tough2. Is it good to buy itough2? In addition, what is the difference between the Executive and Source versions of this software? And how to get started with this software. I don’t seem to find any teaching materials on the Internet. (Trouble everyone, my English is not very good, and my instructor is not very clear about this software)

Hi Zhaoyan,
It is likely both TOUGH3 or iTOUGH2 will do what you need to do. iTOUGH2 has inverse capabilities and TOUGH3 has parallel capability. You need to DISCUSS with your adviser what is needed based on the application he has in mind.
You can find TOUGH beginner course material at: https://tough.lbl.gov/events/tough-short-courses/.
You will also receive sample problems and User's guide in your package once you purchase the code
With executable you can only run the code. With source code you can modify the code as you wish.
Thanks

Hi Zhaoyan,
TOUGH3 kept the main structure of the TOUGH2 code, but with added modules and extra functionalities. TOUGH2 input file can be used to run TOUGH3 with most likely no change or very minimum change.
Notice we are not selling TOUGH2 anymore. But you can choose between TOUGH3 and iTOUGH2.
