Liquid saturation definition

Recently, I showed my simulation results to my colleagues.

I was asked a question, what is the liquid saturation and gas saturation.

I have tried to explain, but I was confused finally.

I have check tough manufacture but I did not find it.

Liquid saturation + gas saturation =1, correct ?

can I think it is the volume percentage?

I appreciate it if anyone can help me to clarify the definition.

Thanks

Yes, it is a volumetric fraction:

gas saturation = volume of gas phase divided by pore volume

Be sure you understand the definition of a "phase" vs. "component", because "saturation" is sometimes also used to indicate the closeness of a component dissolved in the liquid phase to the solubility limit.
