Empty SAVE file

Dear All,

I have run the executable tough2 with the input is a DAT file (got it from Petrasim). When I run the simple model, it worked. But when I made a field model in Petrasim and got the DAT file, I can run the tough2 but the SAVE file is empty. 

Do you have any advice on what thing that incorrect?

    Dimas,

    are you sure the code ran your "field" input dat file?

    Lineq file is empty and it suggests no NR iterations have been made. Vers file is only 2 kB, while for the "simple" run it was 5 kB. It seems few routines have been called.

    Better if you first look at the output file.

    Thank you for your answer. 

    My simple model just has 10 blocks, and the SAVE file was created successfully using the command prompt. I use the same command to ran for the field model which has around 35.000 blocks, and it didn't work.

    You should inspect the output file looking for some message which can tell you why the model did not run. You can see where the run stopped looking at output file contents. 

    There could be an issue in reading the input files, some inconsistency in assigned primary variables, or something else. What is likely, is that the simulation has not started at all if LINEQ file is empty.

    Hi, Alfredo. I am sorry for asking you directly.

    I have checked the out file, and in some raws, it said that the material is unknown. Do you have any idea what is the problem? Anyway, I got the DAT file (as a T2 input is from Petrasim software which is I didn't make any changes). When I ran using T2 exe, this problem happened.

    Actually, I just try to run the DAT file using T2 from the Petrasim, and it worked. Might be it has a different version with the T2 exe I used before.

    I will really appreciate it if you can look at it, and what is the problem. Thank you

      Model.sim is loaded by PetraSim and the simulation runs nicely. I just increased the time to 10 years to be sure nothing strange happens after 1 year simulation. 

      When you mention T2 exe, from wich version of TOUGH2 it is build?

      If I remember well, the rock domains are limited to 27 in the standard TOUGH2 V.2.0, while Petrasim version should be able to handle more domains, I think up to 500. For instance, the model you sent uses 30 rock domains.

    Thank you for the information that the T2 V.2 has the maximum number of rock domains. My T2 exe is the old version, while my Petrasim 2020 has the new one. 
    Thank you a lot for the enlightenment. Now I will use the T2 from my Petrasim.
