Hello everyone,

Please, does anyone know if  the permeability modification option may be used in EOS7R?

    Hi Barbara,

    Short answer:

Yes: the PMX option is available in all EOSs.

    Hi Stefan,

    Thank you for your answer.

I'd like  to ask you if I have been understood correctly, because the user's giude is not clear.

If the absolute permeability of the rock is 1e-18 and I want modify it as 1e-21:

    since K'=K*m, and m'=m-PER(2)

     in the SEED domain I should impose: POR=0, PER(1)=0, PER(2)=1 and SHIFT=1.001.

    Is that correct?

    Barbara

    Hi Barbara,

The manual refers to the description of permeability-modification options printed in each output file - I attach this description to this reply. Also check Section 9.11 of the manual.

If you want to deterministically modify individual permeabilities yourself (e.g., from 1E-18 to 1E-21), you have to specify the desired modifier in the ELME block directly (in your example, put 0.001 into Columns 41-50 of block ELEME for the grid block you want to modify). SEED parameters POR, PER(1) and PER(2) are used to internally generate random permeability fields, where the three parameters are described in the attached printout.

    Hope this helps,

    Stefan
