Invitation for TOUGH4 testing

TOUGH4 is the next generation of TOUGH codes, featuring numerous advancements and enhanced modeling capabilities. More information can be obtained from the following webpage: https://lbl-2.gitbook.io/tough4-user-manual/what-is-new-in-tough4

We are seeking volunteers to test the code, particularly focusing on the new modeling features:

·         Coupling any EOS modules with wellbore simulations.

·         Subsurface gas/energy storage involving multiple gas mixtures, tracers, brine, and biological reaction processes (EOS7).

·          Subsurface gas/energy storage involving multiple gas mixtures, salts, and biodegradation reaction processes (EWASG).

·         Simulation of any gas that has not been included in other TOUGH EOS modules (EOS6).

·         Supercritical water simulation involving multiple gas mixtures (EOS1, EWASG).

·         Coupling Flac3D with any EOS modules (you must have your own Flac3D executable).

·         Coupling biodegradation reaction with any EOS modules.

·         Enhanced coal bed methane simulation.

·         CO2 geological sequestration in saline aquifer or depleted gas reservoir (ECO2).

·         Simulation of multicomponent hydrocarbon mixtures (TMVOC)

·         High temperature applications in nuclear waste disposal and geothermal reservoir simulation.

·         Non-Darcy’s flow simulation.

·         OPEN MP, MPI and GPU hybrid computing on Windows PC for large-scale simulations (several hundred thousand to multiple million gridblocks).

·         Any other simulations that may be widely interested.

What you will get:

(1)   You will get the full function version of TOUGH4 executable for a limited period for testing.

(2)   You are welcome to publish the results of the test.

(3)   Selected testing examples will be published  as part of the TOUGH4 online user manual, and you will be the author for the example.

(4)   If you have any problem while running the simulations, experts from LBL may provide help to solve the problems.

(5)   You will be acknowledged in the TOUGH4 online user manual.

If you are interested, please send me a one-page proposal describing your simulation plan.
