MINC for general dual porosity modeling

Hello, is it possible/advisable to use MINC for more general analysis of multiple interacting continua, i.e., without fractures? I'd like to model flow through two porous media with different permeabilities. Flow will occur primarily in the higher permeability medium, with "interporosity" flow into and out of the lower permeability medium. I've read the MINC documentation carefully, and this appears to be an allowable application. However, I only see examples of uses for fracture flow. Please let me know if I'm in error to apply the MINC method to general dual porosity (or dual permeability) simulations.
