Toughreact and eos5

Hello everyone,

I am new at using Toughreact and would like to know if there is any version of Toughreact that works with EOS5 (Water, Hydrogen). If not, is there any other EOS that allows to simulate the water+H2+rock interaction?

Thank you,

Júlio Carneiro

    Julio,

TOUGHREACT supports the EWASG module ables to handle the thermodynamics of three component mixtures of water, NaCl and a non-condensable gas (NCG) at low to moderate partial pressure of the NCG.

The NCG can be chosen among air, CO2, CH4, H2 and N2. Thus, in principle, by chosing NCG to be H2 in EWASG, you could run a reactive transport simulation with hydrogen.

But I'm not the right person to say if the resulting conditions can be properly afforded by TOUGHREACT-EWASG.

    Regards,

    Alfredo

      Alfredo Battistelli Dear Alfredo,

thank you very much for the feedback. I will check EWASG to see if it can do the H2-water-rock interaction I am trying to model.

      regards,

      Júlio

       Hello Julio,
Were you able to model the H2-water-rock interaction using the EWASG module?

Hi. Not really. The Toughreact version we had did not support EWASG. We ended up using other modelling tools. Regards,

       Okay, Thanks.

I am writing to enquire about the EOS5 and EWASG modules which are related to Hydrogen simulation. Do you have any examples or sample problems explaining the working of these modules?
