Carbonate cement distribution in 1D model

Hi, tough users

I created a 1D model (EOS1) to simulate the carbonate cement. The initial temperature (15-26 C) and pressure (0.2-5Mpa, equal to 500 m depth) distribution are included in INCON file. Injection rate keeps 2.7180E-04 kg/s during 0.1 Ma.

However, a large amount of cement only distributed the top element (the injection element), the second element only contained a little cement. Sudden decrease in cementation content is irregular for reality we observed on core column (cementation content should be gradually decrease from top to bottom).

Could anyone help me to solve this problem or provide suggestions?

Best regards,

Merson

    Dear Merson,

I think this happens because of very fast calcite precipitation. You can include kinetics and use the kinetic parameters to fit the model to the observations.

      Dear Marielle

Thanks for your suggestion! I tried to change kinetic parameters of carbonate minerals, but it doesnot work for my question.

Could you double check my upload files or provide other suggestions?

      Best regards, Merson

    Hi, developers

I feel deep sorry to interrupt you.

Could you run my inp files and  provide some suggestions for my model? I have been troubled by this question for a very long time.

Thank you in advance for your responses.

    Best regards,

    Merson
