Injecting Hot Upflow with MINC

I am running a natural state geothermal model and running into the following issue:

With a single-porosity model, the upflow condition is hot water injected, about 290 C. This runs fine and reaches a reasonable steady-state.

But when I switch to MINC, for a variety of fracture characteristics, the cells that the hot fluid injected into start to cool significantly. Like, instead of 290 C, they end up 120 C.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas?

Eventually, this model crashes, too. The single porosity was fine.
