How can Toughreact V3 data be extracted and input into TECPLOT?

Hi everyone, someone knows how to extract data from Toughreact V3 output results to TECPLOT. Thank you!

    Sunny,

If you have a *.tec file, the file should load directly into Tecplot 360.  I've seen data output from TOUGH3 in which TOUGH3 exports the IJK grid dimension values incorrectly, so these files sometimes have to be hand edited to get the data to look right.  My understanding is that this situation should be improved with TOUGH4.

If you need any help loading your data into Tecplot 360, your best bet will be to contact my support staff: support@tecplot.com

    Thanks,

    Hi Sunny,

We did not have full tecplot output for TOUGHREACT v3. The aqueous species, minerals and gases could be written out, but not the data usually written in the flow.out file. However pressures, temperatures, and liquid saturations were included in the aqueous species tecplot output. We updated the code to write out flow data and vector fields to tecplot format (fluid, gas, and heat fluxes and pore velocities)  in TOUGHREACT V3.32 and improved it in V4.13 ( released in Jan 2022).

    cheers,

    Eric

Sir, can people who use Toughreact V3 get Toughreact V4 for free?

      Hi Sunny,

Unfortunately TOUGHREACT v3 is 10 years old now, and TOUGHREACT V4 is a major release so it is not a free update for V3 licensees. It may still be a reduced cost for V3.32 licensees (there are decreasing discounts for about 5 years) but you will have to check with the Berkeley Lab Marketplace since the developers don't handle licensing.

      regards, Eric
