PHYSICAL MEANING OF INPUT RECORDS

Hello,

I am using Toughreact version 4.13 to solve CO2 storage problems. However, I still don't understand the physical meaning of PRIMARY SPECIES and AQUEOUS COMPLEXES, INITIAL GAS ZONE and INJECTION GAS ZONE, INITIAL WATER AND BOUNDARY WATER ZONES in chemical.inp records. Also, I would like to know when to assign different indices (0, 1, 2, etc.) to records 14 and 15 in solute.inp file. Please explain if you understand them.
Thanks.

Nicholas

    Hello,

Open "TOUGHREACT_V4-OMP_UserGuide_090721" pdf file and go to page 46. There are detailed explanations about the variables you are looking for.

    Hello Majid Trf ,

Thanks very much for your recommendation. The materials I have accessed don't seem to have answered my question (I couldn't find "TOUGHREACT_V4-OMP_UserGuide_090721").

I am injecting water into a rock sample. In this case, do I need injection water zone and/or initial water zone specification in the chemical.inp file? In what case do I not need to include injection water zone?

    Thanks.

I believe, Initial Water is the brine that exists within the pores of your formation. Boundary/Injection Water is the one that you are injecting. You need to either know or guess the species that exists in both your initial and injection water.

Without the pdf file I mentioned, you will have a hard time creating your chemical.inp file. I recommend you reach out to the TOUGH team to give you the pdf file I mentioned above.

    hello,

I have the same question, I am using the 3.0 version, by reading the manual, I tried to add injection water, but the PRIMARY AQUEOUS SPECIES that defines the initial water must also be added to the injected water, otherwise it will not work, is this a mistake in my understanding?
