permeable faults modelling

Hi there,

Do you have any suggestion on modelling inclined permeable faults in tough2 model? how to refine faults zone only?

Thank you very much

Jing

    Hi, Jing

I think can use other software modeling, such as Flac3d, and then rewrite the "MESH" file.

If your fault is linear and does not bend too much, an easy way to go around this problem is to rotate your rectangular grid acting on the BETAX variable of the CONNE block so that gravity becomes inclined relative to the fault. To actually create the fault you may use even MESHMAKER or any other software. I usually use the geological processing tools of GMS (see https://tough.forumbee.com/t/m3s1p).
