Requesting Instructional material other than manuals!

Hello everyone. I am new to using TOUGH codes and currently trying to run T2Well-ECO2N for a project. This forum has been very helpful. I am wondering if anybody has any sort of step-by-step guideline document for running the code. From MESH generation, to initialization, running simulation, execution, to post-processing. It can be as detailed or simple as you like. I would prefer the later. Please let me know.

    Hi Mo,

First, I have to recommend the obvious, i.e., to read the TOUGH2 manual and specifically go through each of the sample problems. It's not an easy read, but it answers the majority of the questions that are frequently discussed in this forum (e.g., about mesh information, initial and boundary conditions).

Next, you could download training course material from the TOIUGH website; you find it near the bottom of the page:

    https://tough.lbl.gov/events/tough-short-courses/

specifically file "TOUGH2 training material (2011)":

    https://drive.google.com/open?id=1QRdQQAfT3FgAZ6m7kEWsCbpVEO_A4uc3

It is outdated, but it nevertheless may be useful. Starting on page 55 of the pdf, there is a step-by-step tutorial for developing a (very simple) 1D problem - but it should give you a basic idea of the workflow. You can also download some exercises for different EOS modules.

Finally, there are occasional TOUGH Short Courses held at LBNL or offered by others.

    Good luck!

    Stefan
