injection using well on delivery
Hello,
What is the correct way to use the well on delivery option for injection?
Background: I'm using EOS7C and attempting to inject methane into my modeled domain at a depth of about 30 m below ground surface. I do this by using a negative value for my PI to change the direction of flow as per equation (24) in the T2VOC User's Guide. However, I find that it's necessary to define wellbore pressure (Pwb) as negative for injection to occur, which does not seem physically meaningful. If, for example, I'd like to inject methane at 1E7 kPa into my domain, would it be correct to define Pwb as -1E7 kPa? I experimented with this approach and found that injection did occur (and did NOT occur if I used +1E7 kPa). But the model crashed after pressure near the injection site reached 1.0E5 kPa, which is only slightly higher than my initial pressure of 9.0E4Pa.
Thank you for your attention!
Best,
Amy

Hello,
I wanted to provide an update on this. I think that the well on delivery option cannot be used for injection, but only for production. This is due to the problems assigning pressure described above and because there's no option to define enthalpy of the injected fluids using well on delivery. For my application, I've had good results adding extra (i.e. non-geometric) cells to the model and defining cell attributes instead.
