How to assign pore pressure gradient

Hi, I have a question in assigning the pore pressure gradient in TOUGHREACT? I tried to assign the pore pressure to each zone by the txt file, but failed. Is there anyone has the experience? Thanks.

    Quan Gan,

You can assign a gradient by specifying initial pressures for each element in block INCON. It may be better, however, to specify Dirichlet boundary conditions (using large-volume or inactive elements) at the boundaries and let the simulator determine the pore pressure in each element under the specified large-scale gradient by running it to steady state, using the INCON block in the resulting SAVE file for subsequent runs.

Please describe in more detail what you meant by "but failed" (unexpected result, crash, error messages, ...).

    Thanks,

    Stefan
