Does TMVOCBio in TOUGH3 have any option for 3-phase hysteresis
Hi all,
What I recall is that TMVOC did not have Hysteresis options for three-phase capillary pressure and relative permeabilities (see the link). Seems it is still the case in TMVOCbio (in TOUGH3).
Hysteresis options ICP=12 and IRP=12 seem to assume napl-gas capillary pressure and napl relative permeability equal to zero. On the other hand ICP = 31 and IRP=33, despite being three phase, do not consider hysteresis.
I would be thankful if someone could comment on this.
Kind regards

In the official version of TOUGH3, ICP, IRP=12 or 13 are for 2-phase flow. It is not expected to be used for the three phase flow simulation. If they are used for three phase flow, the napl-gas capillary pressure is set to 0. The oil phase relative permeability is set to 0 for TMVOC (TMVOCBIO). The supercirtical phase relative permeability equal to gas phase relative permeability for ECO2M.
No Hysteresis is considered in other capillary pressure and relative permeability functions.

Kaveh, I am working on the new version of TOUGH. We may be able to implement the Hysteresis options for the three-phase flow. If you can share the implementation of your approach, it will be great help.

Kaveh,
Thanks for the information. I will investigate it.
