Reservoir Temperature Change

Hi all,

In the current simulation I'm running, the reservoir temperature change is far less significant than I would expect (50 kg/s for 30 yrs with only localized grid block temp change). If anyone has any advice as to why this is occurring, I'd be very appreciative. For now, I am left to assume that my grid block volumes are too large as the flowvector file does show liquid velocity in each block. Trying to adjust for this, though, hasn't resulted in any substantial results.

    You need input enthalpy for the injection water (in GENER).

       HI Kenny,

      Thanks for the response, I assigned the injection well a high density and adjusted my INCON data to reflect the injection enthalpy desired at that point. When doing so, I saw that my porosities in INCON needed adjusting. That, plus some tweaks in the parameters, were able to fix the issue. Unfortunately, I am still experiencing (almost) radial flow upon injection, although I have a pressure difference of ~35 bars between injector and production well. Thus, my new question is if it is permissible to run the simulation without injection (and only the DELV well on) to generate a pressure gradient that can then be input into the INCON file (from SAVE)?

       Hi jcbarton3,

      I am not sure whether the high density approach works, but why do not you use more straightforward approach by injection water with given enthalpy (you can find out enthalpy of the 25 C water from NIST database). 

      Yes, you can run the model without injection, but only pump with DELV. You need define reasonable production time to get the pressure drop down you needed.
