WinGridder

Hi, dear all

I 'd like to purchase WinGridder for making complex models.

Please tell me Which OS is fit to use WinGridder ?

(Can it be run on PCs with windows7?)

Best Regards,

Yamamoto

    Hi Yamamoto,

Yes, it should work on a PC with Windows 7.

I had no idea the information would be given by the developer directly.

    Thanks you very much.

    I bought and used this software(on Win7).

I ran this, reading USER INFORMATION from the beginning.

But this software causes many errors, and this is difficult for me.

    For example,
    1.Where is ECRBpart.dft ?
2.At step5, choose All Faults, and then Click Default and OK,
    but Run-time error '91' occured
(it says "Object variable or With block variable not set").
This Run-time error can be seen at different situations.

So I mean that for more complicated model I can't make by WebMeshMaker,
please tell me the rough process of WinGridder.
(First step is to make boundary file I gusess.)

    Hi Yamamoto,

It seems that you are following the demonstration steps in Section 3. I suggest you to follow the steps described in the appendix B, which are consistent with the associated example files and should not give you those troubles you mentioned.

    Good luck!

Thanks for your reply and it's getting clearer.

I 'm now able to make a simple mesh file, but I still have some questions.

I have an elevation data, which describe x,y,z coordinate,

so I want to use this data when I generate 2D model.

I guess I should use Region-Repository Files, but I do not know .

Please tell me how to use an digital elevation data for making a model.

    Best Regards,

    Hi Yamamoto,

You may already figure it out but I think you should use layer files to represent the stratigraphic data.

    Hi guys

I am trying to discretise the below object with Wingridder. It includes a bigger cube and a smaller cylinder. The cylinder does not extend down to the bottom of the cube. I want the cylinder to have a higher resolution.

I introduced the cube as the domain and the cylinder as a boundary file. The problem is that I need only the five meters depth of the cube inside the cylinder to have higher resolution but after creating the mesh,  the high resolution domain extends down to the bottom of the cube (i.e., the entire 10 ms).

FYI, Fig2 shows the plan view of the domain and the boundary inside.

Any idea how to prepare the mesh for this case?

    Kind regards

    Kaveh
