Tough+Hydrate Model Initialization to Steady state : Pressure gradient appears but Temperature gradient disappears

Hello Everyone. I am trying to run the model to steady state. 

I have a 190 x 1000 model.

I fixed the top boundary to  6.5C and 104bar by making the cells inactive

I set simulation end time to (10,000 years).

I get pressure gradient, but temperature gradient disappears.

Please help, file is attached herewith

    you may need to fix the temperature at bottom. There is no gravity equilibrium for temperature.

    Well Kenny, if i make the bottom cell fixed, how would then hydrostatic pressure distribution change?

    are you asking me to fix both top and bottom conditions?

    Only the temperature fixed at bottom, not pressure. To fix the temperature, you may use a large DROK rock grain density (1.0e50) for the bottom boundary.

      Kenny i have tried this and unfortunately it does not work...anyways I appreciate your comments on this post. 

      I will try other combinations and post in case I achieve my objective

    Use large rock density to fix a gridblock temperature is the standard approach for TOUGH. It should work.

      I want to ask you whether the process of getting steady state temperature and pressure distribution can be achieved in a single step?

      or pressure gradient achievement is to be done in a single step and temperature gradient be achieved in a separate run?

       I do not think so. When a system is highly heterogeneity, it may be difficult to reach the steady state.
